Society South Yarra has partnered with GoGet Carshare to give residents all the benefits of a car - without the hassle and expense of owning one! GoGet CarShare is more convenient than car rental, cheaper than car ownership and a great way to help the environment. As a Society resident, you’re automatically entitled to a GoGet membership (GoOccasional plan), which means you have access to a car conveniently parked within your building, that you can rent by the hour or day, whenever you need to, for $7.90 an hour and $0.35 per kilometre. Once you have activated your membership you simply book your GoGet car online or by phone for as little as an hour (or longer). Then, take a short walk to the car, use your special GoGet swipe card, jump in, drive and bring it back to the same spot, when you’re done.

If you need the car for longer, GoGet has great rates that compare to car rental (but GoGet pays for petrol).

Each month you get an itemised account, much like a phone bill. What you don't get are mechanical, insurance and registration costs, cleaning hassles and everything else that goes with owning a car.

Activating your GoGet membership

1. If you have a GoGet Welcome pack, call 1300 769 389 and quote the number on the pack.
